July 27 2013 The first four block section of Long Beach’s new $44.2 million boardwalk officially opened on Saturday July 27.   Honorary ribbon cutters Harvey and Ellen Weisenberg have resided in Long Beach for close to 80 years.  Describing the importance of the boardwalk to the oceanfront community, Harvey describes it as being a part of the “Long Beach way of life”.
